TRACY NEWMAN
Wildlife artist and sculptor

I have always been interested in wildlife and come from a farming family on the English/Welsh border near Monmouth. As a youngster I was encouraged to draw and paint and was inspired by the abundant wildlife and nature around me.

I studied at Newport College of Art and then specialised in 2D design and visual communications in Cardiff School of Art. For the next 35 years I worked as a graphic designer and illustrator, in Hammersmith, London. In 2018, I moved back to Wales and have been involved with a number of Spanish wildlife / travel companies. Designing literature and corporate identities for the Andalusia Wildlife Guides, Worldwide Birding Tours and also as a wildlife guide with Sierra-Trek and Iberian Lynxland.
I am now pursuing my interests in painting and sculpture, collaborating with my friend and Sculptor, Oswaldo Mérchor. Together, we have been working on a number of projects while I continue with my interest in digital painting and drawing. I've had work in a number of galleries in Wales, Norfolk and the South East
of England. 2022 saw a joint exhibition with Oswaldo Mérchor at the prestigious Global Birdfair in Rutland. My paintings are produced using a digital tablet and pen. Once finished, they are sent off to a Giclee master printer using a ‘state of the art’ twelve colour inkjet printer. I then proof and pass each print on press before they are signed and framed (if requested). Each print is produced on a top quality fine art paper (350gsm). Print runs are normally small (around 50 copies) and has each has a Certificate of Authentication from the printer and artist.
